Yana Finkelstein is a licensed California attorney local to the Bay Area. She received her Bachelor of Science in Corporate Finance from San Jose State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and then went on to attend Santa Clara University School of Law for her Juris Doctorate.
Throughout her 20-year career, Yana has been focused in the financial and tax field in both the corporate and individual sectors where she has developed a unique and distinctive combination of experience in legal, business and tax services. She started her career as an attorney specializing in real estate and tax law, and then went on to work in international tax planning and strategy for a Big Four accounting firm. Her journey then led her to join a Fortune 100 company where she continued her work in international tax planning and compliance. Her next step was working for an accounting and consulting firm where she worked with individuals and closely held businesses with international estate planning. Her experience in the international sector arms her with the in-depth knowledge necessary to provide valuable counsel to both corporate and individual clients.
At Foros Law, that background shapes the way every engagement is built. Yana designs revocable living trusts and the documents that surround them, reviews and re-titles her clients' real estate so that the plan is genuinely funded rather than merely drafted, and guides executors and trustees through California probate and estate administration when a plan was never put in place. For business owners, she works on choice of entity, tax-efficient restructuring, buy-sell agreements, and business exit planning, treating the eventual sale or transition as something to build into the company from the beginning rather than to address once a transaction is already underway.
Yana's international work is a defining part of the practice. She coordinates estate plans for families whose assets, beneficiaries, or business interests sit in more than one country, advises US citizens and green card holders living abroad, and helps foreign investors and individuals preparing to immigrate understand what their decisions will cost before they become US tax residents, while the widest range of options is still available to them. She works in both English and Russian, and collaborates closely with her clients' accountants, wealth managers, immigration counsel, and trustees so that one coordinated plan emerges instead of several partial ones.
Yana's passion for learning has never subsided. It is the ongoing education associated with providing business and tax counsel that fuels her dedication to both her profession and her clients. She started her firm so that she could enjoy the personal interaction and relationship building she gets to experience with every client. She thrives on creating an immediate positive impact for business owners and individuals through business and tax counseling services.
